Lately our mailboxes have been stacking up with baby shower invitations, and we of course love celebrating our mama’s to be! However, it reminded us how quickly it can become expensive and time consuming if you’re hosting the baby shower for a close friend or family member. Here are a few tips on how to get family and friends to help pitch in for the celebration if you’re on a tight budget.
#1: Make the shower a potluck extravaganza! Ask guests to bring the mom-to-be’s favorite food dish or dessert. They can share a funny or memorable story about why it’s her favorite food. Or you can turn it into a game for the mom to figure who brought what dish based on a few clues. No matter how its presented, this way you save both time and cash!
#2: Create a very small team of helpers and give them a specific job. Email the rest of the people who is coming to the shower(remember to leave the mommy to be off the email list!) to ask for game ideas, this way when they reply with an idea you can ask them to be in charge of that game and bringing everything for the game since it’s their idea!

#3: Don’t be afraid to ask the family (others you may not know closely) for help. Don’t underestimate the excitement of grandmothers and aunts to be, just ask! Even better, they’ll be excited that they’re being included in the planning of this special day.
